[Maya isn't quite sure why she's considering this passing idea of hers. It's the sort of thought that she gets late at night, laying in bed as she struggles to find the right way to sleep in her comfy little prison. The deaths from the trial today had only cemented the thought in her head, no matter how bad it may turn out to be.
That's why she's here, following the end of the party, when she's sure that most people have retired to the dorms, she's here. A door that didn't belong to her stood right before her, and she's fairly certain that it belongs to the right person.
....Come to think of it, that's probably a good idea.
[she looks this way and that, checking the hallway in case anyone is awake or watching. Somehow, the fact that there is definitely at least one person always keeping an eye on them in this part of the university doesn't sit right with her. Find something else to look at, Todd.]
[Provided that she'll be let in, Maya steps slowly through the doorway into Rebecca's room. She does so without a work, but as soon as the door is shut behind her, she picks up again with a renewed energy.]
I-I want to try channeling a spirit! For you, that is!
[Because it isn't often that she tries something this serious.]
[The motive wasn't great this time around, and on this Wednesday afternoon, as things really started to ramp up, she was more than eager to search for something to take her mind off of it.
And, honestly, doesn't someone else deserve that too?
Maybe that's why she's at the door again, knocking lightly against the door, calling out.]
[ After the photo, and sorting out those extraneous items, Rebecca retreated to her room for awhile. She's got...some things, to get sorted, and she just needs some time to rest.
So, like clockwork.
She rises and rubs her forehead, calling out: ] One...moment, I'm coming. [ At least she's had time to wash her face, was away the tear-stains. ]
[ It's...fine. This could all be worse. Though it's a little slow, Rebecca's putting on her adult face, getting everything in position. If Maya needs help, god...shouldn't she help her? ]
Uh... It's been a...bit of a day, but...what is it?
[ They're going to the little area in the common room, should at least be...well, not-that-noisy. After a few moments, waiting for the water to boil, she figures it'd be better to not just sit in silence. ]
Do you...want to talk about it? What you've been seeing? I understand if not.
... [Where to even begin? The more she thinks about it, the worse she feels for coming to Rebecca just to talk about the problems she's been going through, even though Rebecca probably has her own.
Is that right?]
I've been seeing... people, lots of people from the cases I went on with Nick.
WEEK 2
afterparty timez
That's why she's here, following the end of the party, when she's sure that most people have retired to the dorms, she's here. A door that didn't belong to her stood right before her, and she's fairly certain that it belongs to the right person.
If it doesn't.... well, she'll find out.
Time to knock. One, two, three...]
no subject
Good evening, Maya. Are you...doing alright? ...That's a stupid question, isn't it?
no subject
I'm fine, I... [Well, uh. Is she okay? Not very, but she'll soldier on.]
Well, I wanted to ask you something. Something kind of urgent.
no subject
Urgent? Yes, of course- do you need to come in here? What is it?

[Because it isn't often that she tries something this serious.]
no subject
Wh-what? Maya, you- a spirit? But I thought- you said you needed- huh?
no subject
[It might be nearly impossible, but miracles happen every day.]
I want to show what I'm capable of!
no subject
This is all so...very sudden, Maya, I- wh-what do you need me to do?
no subject
[About how she still hasn't managed to summon Mia.]
Well, I-I'm not sure what you can do, actually. Is there anyone specific you would like me to try channeling? I already have an idea, just in case!
no subject
Isabella Santos. I- I want to talk to...her. Belle. My...my friend.
no subject
Isabella Santos.... got it.
[She starts to sit, legs tucked underneath her. She motions for Rebecca to do the same.]
Is there anything else?

Rebecca? You there? The real Rebeca, I mean...

So, like clockwork.
She rises and rubs her forehead, calling out: ] One...moment, I'm coming. [ At least she's had time to wash her face, was away the tear-stains. ]
Maya? What was... What's going on?
no subject
By the time she reaches the door, Maya's standing there resolute. She too has had time to clean away any tears she had for her dead loved ones.]
Hi, I was, uh... [Great, now she feels kind of silly for asking this...] I wanted to ask if you had time to... talk?
no subject
Uh... It's been a...bit of a day, but...what is it?
no subject
I'm... [The wind seems to deflate from her sails, leaving her looking twice as haggard.]
Honestly I've been trying to find someone to talk to that's real for a change.
no subject
O-oh. ...They've been...particularly bad for you, haven't they? Alright. Here, let's...get some tea, yeah?
no subject
...Tea sounds good. Please.
[You lead, Rebecca, she'll follow.]
no subject
[ Come on. Let's go to the kitchenette. ]
no subject
To the kitchen we'll go!]
Maybe jade?
